Paid Media Team Member Spotlight: Meet Brian Walker

B-walk (a nickname he acquired during his college years) is the newest member of the BLASTmedia team. Brian makes sure our clients get seen by the right people in the massive expanse of Internet. Using his paid media expertise, he gets people interested in learning more about our clients. Here’s more about him in his own words.

Hometown: Lawrenceville, Georgia. I just tell everyone Atlanta, it’s easier. (To that, we say…”How are you liking this weather?”)

College: The University of South Carolina. Go Gamecocks!

Favorite Childhood Memory: Family cruises every couple of summers. A week at sea with unlimited food and exotic islands, it’s a kid’s dream! Definitely miss those long vacations with the whole family, and how much I would look forward to them for months leading up to it.

Favorite Meal: Steak, medium rare or rarer. No sides necessary, but if there is one – just make sure it isn’t anything green!

First Job: Bagging groceries for minimum wage. I left that as soon as I was old enough to work other places.

Favorite Indianapolis Neighborhood: Broad Ripple. It reminds me a lot of my college town, which always brings back good memories.

What’s on your iPod? Rap music and LOTS of it. I know I grew up in the South, but country music doesn’t go near my iPod.

Most Embarrassing Moment: Once, in high school, I was extremely sick and still had to go take a big exam. I didn’t make it out of the classroom in time and threw up in a packed room of silent test-takers. Also, I failed the exam. (Yikes, sounds TERRIBLE!)

Favorite Blog: Deadspin. Sports and gossip, what’s not to like? Also sometimes they have legit news stories, too.

What are your hobbies? I’m a sports nut, even though I’m terrible at playing them. I love an all-day tailgate and seeing a game in person with a bunch of friends. I also like just getting out on nice days and exploring parts of the city I haven’t been to before, finding new bars, restaurants, and places to hang out. And cooking. No one’s every told me my cooking is terrible, so I consider myself pretty decent at it and enjoy it.
