Challenge

3Tera, a California-based startup specializing in cloud computing technology and utility computing services, had very little recognition inside and outside of its industry. The company needed to communicate the advantages offered by its complex, high-tech products. 

Solution

BLASTmedia created a way for diverse audiences to understand 3Tera’s complex applications by introducing the AppLogic product to mainstream business publications. To maximize media coverage to decision makers, BLASTmedia focused outreach efforts on IT publications and Web sites, establishing 3Tera as a leader and pioneer in the cloud computing space, and as a front-runner in the new “Open Cloud” vision. BLAST also developed a targeted awards program for 3Tera.

3Tera was covered by mainstream and technology publications including: Yahoo! News, Inc. magazine, NYTimes.com, CNET News.com, Forbes.com, eWeek, InfoWorld, CIO Magazine, Network World and TechRepublic.

The company won numerous awards and recognitions including: Linux Magazine’s Top 20 Companies to Watch in 2008, Gartner, Inc.’s “Cool Vendors in IT Operations 2008” report, HostReview’s 2007 Top 10 Web Host Awards’ Best SaaS Provider and 2008 Best Cloud Computing Service, Under the Radar’s Graduate Circle and InformationWeek’s Startup 50. 

3Tera caught the eye of CA and was acquired in February of 2010.
