BLASToutoors is pumped to rock n' roll with the new HangTimer sports technology application for both versions of the iPhone and iPod touch.
This application utilizes the iPhone's accelerometer and some of the same technology used by NASA to determine the split second you become airborne.
Like the original HangTimer, the new application records your air time and top ten best jumps; with the improved technology HangTimer now automatically detects your ski resort anywhere in the world and downloads the area's snow reports, lift status and trail maps. Select resorts allow HangTimer to access webcams.
For users with the iPhone 3G, Hangtimer has bonus features which use the built in GPS to find your exact position for every jump and plot it using Google Maps. The GPS also enables the HangTimer application to display the users' speed as he or she cruises along and how fast they are going when they take flight.
With the winter months upon us, this iPhone application is a must have for all outdoor sports enthusiasts so you can back up your "trash talk" with some actual statistics.
Chad Zakskorn, 15, an avid skier and trickster, could not contain his excitement when he heard about the new HangTimer application: "This is a piece of technology that will benefit skiers and snowboarders alike," said Zakskorn. "HangTimer is a cool application that will help me find my way around the mountain and show me where my best jumps were."
When asked why his other ski buddies would like the application, he replied, "It will show them how much air time they got so they can brag to each other."
Glad there is an application our there that will allow every 15 year old boy some bragging rights!
