At BLASToutdoors we not only make sure that both the trade and national media know about our clients, but we also do celebrity seeding. When we started thinking about our client, Kahuna Creations, and their Big Sticks we started thinking about what celebrities / trendsetters would be interested and we obviously thought of Mathew McConaughey. The man is always active whether it be out for a run or bike ride with Lance Armstrong or surfing in Malibu so we made sure to get the Big Stick in his hands. And, this weekend he gave it a try. Michael's birthday, that is! He was a man of simple needs yesterday. His only request was a Russian-style cake and the company of five ladies. Easy enough. All we had to do was clear our schedules Monday night, go to three Russian bakeries on Sunday afternoon until said cake was found and hope Daves Bar would make room for our group.

A quick study in decadence, what with cake, wine and free beer supplied by a beer rep passing through, we sang Happy Birthday to our friend Michael, the Russian Maintenance Man.
