BLASTmedia Spotlight: Video Development Team

As The Buggles told us long ago, “video killed the radio star.” While we have nothing against radio here at BLASTmedia, we sure do love video. A large focus of our social media campaigns is the creation, optimization and promotion of video. We pride ourselves on being able to provide original content for our clients — content that gets them noticed. Our video development team members (who also do design and traditional account work from time to time) are pros at creating content to make your brand come alive.

Who is this video development team, you ask? Today I’m here to introduce you to them. So, without further ado, meet BLASTmedia’s video development team, Blake Fife and Paul Schreiber!

Blake, the fearless video team leader, has created more than 30 videos for our clients — ranging from product announcements to thought leadership pieces. His skills with motion graphics never cease to amaze us; and he’s stellar behind the camera as well. However, Blake is more than just a video-making machine! Here are a few fun things to know about Blake:

  • BLASTmedia nickname: The Video Development Team (“Video guy” is a personal favorite)
  • Hometown: Lafayette, IN
  • College attended: Ball State University (wait, born in Lafayette but went to school in Muncie? yep, Blake’s a rebel like that)
  • Favorite childhood memory: Down the street from my house was an old hardware store. My older brother and I would venture down there to buy Jolly Ranchers. Not the mini ones you see today, but the extremely long ones that were nearly 6 inches in length.
  • Favorite Indianapolis restaurant: I can’t think of a better meal than a Boogie Burger and a pile of garlic fries.
  • Favorite quote: “Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted.” – John Lennon
  • Spotify, Pandora or iTunes? Definitely Spotify
  • What’s on your playlist? Right now you’ll find a mixture of The Black Keys, Portugal. The Man, and my new found favorite, The Alabama Shakes.
  • Favorite Tweep you follow: @Oatmeal
  • Favorite blog: Grayscalegorilla.com or VideoCopilot.net are at the top of my Google Reader for the latest in Motion Design tips and tricks.
  • Favorite meme: Does Catbreading count?
  • How would you describe your job at BLASTmedia: Exhilarating. There’s never a dull moment around the BLAST office as each day is full of new challenges. From brainstorming and conceptualizing our next client video to assisting in the promotion of the finished product, my day-to-day is never the same. And that’s what I love about it.

The second member of our video team, Mr. Paul Schreiber, has worked on numerous video projects, and even helped produce a music video for his friend’s band. Whether it’s designing buttons and banners, developing a story board or manning the camera, Paul’s got it under control. He’s also a pretty interesting guy. Check out Paul’s fun facts:
  • BLASTmedia nickname: Anything but Positive Pauly (Secretly, he loves it)
  • Hometown: Greenwood
  • College attended: THE Valparaiso University (A fellow Crusader – throw those Victory Vs!)
  • Favorite sport: Football, basketball, volleyball
  • Favorite movie: Cool Runnings, Space Jam, The Sandlot
  • Favorite Indianapolis restaurant: Siam Square, Three Sisters Cafe
  • Random fact: It is impossible for me to pick one favorite of anything.
  • One word to describe you: Dreamer
  • Favorite quote: “Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” – Harold Thurman
