It seems just like yesterday I was writing about YouTube’s Cosmic Panda, the latest science experiment from the world’s largest video sharing site. The changes had people up in arms as to whether or not it would be permanent. And while the latest changes to the channel pages have yet to take hold permanently, one thing is for sure: YouTube has redesigned its homepage – for good.
The latest changes to the YouTube homepage center around a cleaner, simpler and more social design, giving it a stronger focus on content and making the experience more akin to TV than the YouTube we were once familiar with. To help you navigate the latest changes and redesign, allow me to provide you with a quick guide to the new layout:

Homepage News Feed
Smack dab in the middle of the new layout is a live feed of the latest content from the channels to which you are subscribed. Much like Facebook’s new ticker, YouTube’s news feed provides instant access to video content within your YouTube network of channels. To dive in further, you have the option to select just one channel and sort through its latest uploaded content.

Google+ Integration
Along the left hand side of the page, you’ll find a list of your channel’s subscriptions, Google+ being one of those. If you’ve created a Google+ account, then you’ll be able to sort through video content of those connected to you.

Facebook Integration
Much like Google+, you are now able to connect your YouTube account with a Facebook account. Perfect, right? Unfortunately for brands, many of the business pages on Facebook are owned and operated by an individual from that company. Therefore, when the two accounts are connected, you are only given an option to connect a personal Facebook account and not a business page. Hopefully, this will change soon.
YouTube Suggested Videos
YouTube makes finding the latest viral videos even easier with its “From YouTube” tab. Here you have the option to search videos by virality, popularity and other categories such as music, entertainment, sports, education and news.

Suggested Channels
The final change is YouTube’s “Suggested channels” tab. Similar to its video suggestions, YouTube will list multiple channels based on your channel’s content as well as the channels you are currently subscribed to. This is a great way to discover some real hidden gems that you may not of been aware of previously.
