We’re only one day away from Blog Indiana 2011 and could not be more pleased to announce that Jacqueline Simard, a social media manager here at BLASTmedia, will be sitting on a panel discussion about outsourcing company blogs. Chris Lucas, Executive Director of Marketing at Formstack, is set to moderate this panel discussion held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12th at the Fishers Hospitality and Conference Center.

Some topics that will be discussed on the panel include:

• Defining your blog strategy
• Who owns blogging?
• How do you determine the ROI of blogging?

The key differentiator of a good and bad blog, plainly put, is content. Content is king on the Internet, and with the advancements in social sharing, cream will rise to the top more so now than ever. We asked Jacqueline what she was most excited for in regard to her participation on the panel:

“I’m excited to share my thoughts on an integrated blogging strategy. There is this great debate on who should “own” blogging, but I’m extremely excited (and honored) to have the open discussion about the “one-two punch” an agency and a client can have in the blogosphere.”

The debate Jacqueline mentioned is a very interesting one – Who owns blogging? Who owns your blog content? The ability to start a blog is prefaced only by a computer and an Internet connection. Beyond that, the web is a place that houses anything and everything, even to include immediate thoughts of complete strangers: a la Twitter. As a business, you want to have a blog and be in control of your content, but that raises the million-dollar question: Who do you have create the content? Check out Friday’s panel, titled Can Your Agency Blog Better Than You? The Pros and Cons of Outsourced Blogging for more!

We hope to see you at one if not BOTH of these very cool events going on in Indianapolis in the next week!
