Work hard, play hard: BLASTmedia Summer Vacations
We here at BLASTmedia are always willing to “go the extra mile,” whether it’s for our clients, friends or coworkers. During these dog days of summer, though, one can never underestimate the importance of a little R&R. With that in mind, here are some snapshots of some cool places some of our teammates have gone or are heading to this summer:
- Molly Monceaux drove 15 hours with her husband to southern Louisiana to visit family. She says, “It was a raucous weekend of Cajun music, Cajun dancing and celebrations for the 4th of July.” Did she mention that the temps reached 100?

Molly’s husband Brandon with their niece—too cute!
- Lindsey Groepper will be packing up the Groeppermobile the first week in August to make the trek to Lake Okoboji, Iowa. Twelve hours in a car with 2-year old twins…now that’s an adventure!
- Jacqueline Simard will be heading to her family’s cottage on Lake Kasshabog in Ontario, Canada at the end of the summer. What is she most looking forward to? “…Spending time with my family fishing, boating and water-skiing.”

Oh Canada, her (summer) home and native land!
- Emily Trimble and her family are headed to Fort Lauderdale at the end of July to soak up some rays. It’s the first time all five family members have boarded a plane together—all of their vacations as youngsters were road trips—so, in the words of Emily herself, “This should be interesting.”

From top: Emily’s brother at 16, Emily at 19, and her sister at 13 (Aww!)
- Blake Fife and his 3-year old niece from Texas tested out his new SLR camera over the 4th of July holiday, spending time outdoors as well as taking a trip to the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. You can see his delightfully cute niece (and some awesome pictures) on his Flickr.
- Julie Perry recently headed “across the pond” to spend a week in the Cote d’Azur. She spent time in both Antibes, France and Viareggio, Italy. (Julie once lived in both places while working as a superyacht stewardess back in 1999-2001 — when her crew got to live ashore while their boat was in shipyards. She says her trip was a nice walk down memory lane and a chance to visit old friends.)

Last, but certainly not least, Ryan Grieves and his wife visited Raleigh, North Carolina last month with friends. They rode horses and ATVs and played basketball, sand volleyball and waffle ball. What a blast!
Though our travel destinations span across the U.S., (and even into Canada, eh?) every BLAST team member has one thing in common: we come back from vacation refreshed and ready to crank up the heat for our clients!
Where will you go this summer to unwind?
