Today in Sports: A shut-out by Wasp and walk-off homerun by Code 42
by Molly Monceaux July 6th, 2011
It’s been an exciting June at BLASTmedia with two very successful client product launches. With the 4th of July earlier this week, we’re in a true red-white-and-blue mood. You’re probably dreaming about your weekend plans of beer gardens and sitting by the pool. So, in an attempt to pull you away from the mental lakeside, we will share our client success story through the “great American pastime”: BASEBALL.
Code 42 Software stepped up to the “online backup” plate and hit a grand slam with the release of CrashPlan PRO. And Wasp Barcode Technologies pitched a no-hitter with the launch of their updated inventory tracking system, Inventory Control v6.
For years, Code 42 has been an All Star. But when they called up designated hitter CrashPlan PRO, a cloud-based backup service for small- and mid-sized businesses, they were propelled into World Series material. The PR team cleaned up with hits inReadWriteWeb, WSJ.com, The Business Insider, InformationWeek SMB, eWeek, PCMag.com and Yahoo! News.
And the Social Media team proved to be a stellar lead-off hitter. They once again corroborated a high on-base percentage and put themselves into scoring position with the very successful month-long Facebook sweepstakes in honor of “Backup Awareness Mont.” The sweepstakes, which generated over 2,500 online entries, also resulted in over 1,000 new fans to the CrashPlan Facebook fan page.
Wasp Barcode Technologies called up Cy Young Award contender Inventory Control v6 in mid-June. ICv6, the next generation of inventory tracking software with real-time tracking capabilities and free, unlimited technical support for the life of the product, has been an ace pitcher from day one. But the PR team’s efforts have created a fireballer with coverage inYahoo! News, eWeek, Benzinga, Manufacturing Business Technology and ChannelPRO SMB.
As usual, the Social Media team was brought in as the closing pitcher, holding the lead and winning the game. They generated some great stats on the ICv6 YouTube and Twitter pages. The ICv6 Launch videohas received 2,300+ views so far with 67 likes:
My World Series prediction? These recent game-changing stats from CrashPlan PRO and Inventory Control v6 bring Code 42 and Wasp to the front of the division. Keep an eye on them — they’re going to be around for the long haul!
