Our Own Royal Wedding – Margie gets hitched!

Margie Engagement

If there’s one thing that we love at BLASTmedia, it’s a good wedding!  Dwarfing that little thing they called the Royal Wedding, BLAST’s very own Margie Schaffner (soon to be Hancock) will be walking down the aisle a week from today, May 13. Friday the 13th may seem like bad luck, but Margie isn’t superstitious.

“I’m not nervous for the marriage at all, but I’m really anxious for everything to go smoothly at the wedding.”

Margie and her fiancé Ben will gather 350 (whoa!) of their closest friends and family at St. Pius Church in Indianapolis with a reception at the RiverWalk in Broad Ripple Village. Another BLASTie, Sabrina “Breezy” Cook will be one of eight bridesmaids!  Besides their love for Britney Spears, Margie and Breezy also share a love for data recovery as both work on the DriveSavers PR team.

Our royal couple has already had a marriage “discussion” (definitely not an argument) about which song they will use for their first dance.

“Ben wants Michael Buble, but that may be just too cliché for me.”  We’re pretty sure Margie’s holding out for Britney Spears.

In lieu of favors at the reception, Margie and Ben have decided to take a more philanthropic route, donating in each guest’s name to two charities: Sister of the Holy Cross, a charity group helping out in Uganda that Margie’s sister participates in, and Tobit Marriage Preparation Weekends, getaways for couples to get to spend time together before tying the knot.

Ben and Margie make a great couple and everyone at BLAST is getting excited for the big day—the day our “kitty cat” gets her claws clipped and becomes domesticated. Congratulations, Margie!
