Trade shows allow our clients to showcase their products to press and consumers on a personal level, but for technology products, no show matches the behemoth power of the nerds’ Mecca: International Consumer Electronics Show. Held in Las Vegas, CES will be Jan. 6-9, 2011 and will feature thousands of exhibitors in technology, as well as consumer, retailer and press attendees.

For our BLASTmedia clients, CES creates unmatched media relations and sales opportunities, allowing them to shake hands with influential members of the media, meet with national distributors and retailers and hobnob directly with their consumers.

For us as public relations specialists, it means an abundance of work before, during and after the show — starting months in advance with the setting up of meetings, pulling press into the client booths on the show floor and talking up our clients’ products. It’s all worthwhile though when we follow up on our press appointments back at home and see all the coverage just a few days of work generates!

• GelaSkins, vibrant, removable tech skins for variety of mobile devices such as iPhone 4, BlackBerry, Android, e-readers, iPad, laptops, gaming devices and more, will be located at booth # 4816 in the iLounge Pavilion (north hall).
• Dexim will announce new wireless, Bluetooth and charging products in booth #4431 in the north Hall. • Etón Corporation, a leading emergency preparedness company and creator of solar-powered electronics, will be at booth #30959 in the Upper South Hall. They will be announcing a new, multi-function outdoors device, a new line of self-powered emergency radios and their first auto accessory.
• iFrogz, brand-driven digital audio accessories, will be releasing several new iPhone 4 cases, along with new additions to its EarPollution headphone line. iFrogz will also have fan favorites to see in South Hall Lower Level booth #21819, such as the new Ronin and Mogul DJ-Style headphones, and complete sets of the iPhone 4 and iPad case lines.
• ZOMM, wireless leash for any Bluetooth-enabled phone, will be in the North Hall booth #1035C in the New Products Marketplace, announcing a new pink ZOMM for girls and car accessory kit, turning the world’s first wireless leash for cell phones into an in-vehicle hands-free calling device.
• GEAR4 will have a suite at the Mandarin Oriental to show off new Angry Birds iPhone cases and new app-enabled accessories.
• PLDS is hosting a free media breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 7 at the Bellagio. Press are invited to come by and check out the latest from both Plextor and Lite-On.
• Aluratek will be in South Hall Upper Level, booth #36831 and will expand its line of e-readers with a new Libre. Details to come!
• Pelican, a global leader in the design and manufacture of advanced lighting systems and virtually indestructible cases, will be in South Hall Upper Level, booth #3917 showcasing their newest consumer travel product.
• Mimoco, renowned maker of MIMOBOT designer USB flash drives, will be in South Hall Upper level, booth # 37,015 and is announcing a huge partnership with new characters.
