One of the things we enjoy at BLAST is helping our clients maximize their presence at trade shows – a chance for us to spend a little face time with both our clients and members of the press. Ryan and Sabrina recently attended VMworld in San Francisco – an annual conference hosted by VMWare, the leading provider of virtualization software. BLASTmedia clients, BlueLock and Scale Computing, attended the show and made some huge announcements – as evidenced by the swarm of media attention surrounding each.

BlueLock – a provider of cloud computing and managed IT services – announced its new CloudConnector plug-in, receiving heavy accolades and press coverage (national and international!). Highlights included:

• VMware CTO Stephen Herrod announced BlueLock as one of only three North American service provider partners to offer the VMware’s new vCloud Datacenter Service beta in the VMWorld keynote in front of 17,000+ attendees

• Conducted 11 briefings/interviews with analysts and press

• 26 pieces of media coverage, including InformationWeek, The Register (twice), ReadWriteWeb and eWeek

Industry expert Kevin Komiega (InfoStor) said, “Server virtualization and cloud computing have created a perfect storm for storage vendors with VMworld at the eye of that storm.” With that in mind,  Scale Computing – a developer and manufacturer of complete, end-to-end midmarket clustered storage solutions – was perfectly positioned to launch its N05 Starter Cluster at VMworld.

Scale was coming off the heels of a 3-city press/analyst tour,  creating even greater buzz at the show. Highlights of media coverage include features on Network Computing, InfoStor, Enterprise Storage Forum, SearchSMBStorage, ChannelPro and Storage Newsletter.
