Looking for a job in public relations or know someone who is in the market? With graduation fast approaching and the seemingly flooded job market, it’s probably a good time to think of how you’re going to differentiate yourself to land that great PR job at the agency or company you’re pursuing. Having gone through this process just a few years back, as well attending quite a few career fairs from both sides of the coin, I’ve compiled some tips on how you can put yourself in the best position to land that PR position.

EcoSmart Fire approached its PR firm, BLASTmedia, looking specifically for national TV coverage on the DIY Network, HGTV and any and all home renovation shows to gain national TV exposure of their amazing eco-friendly fireplaces…and boy did BLASTmedia deliver! Over the past year, EcoSmart Fire has been featured on shows such as HGTV’s Carter Can, ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and several DIY Network shows like House Crashers and Yard Crashers.

Public relations firm BLASTmedia secures national media coverage for its client Scale Computing: The New York Times, Washington Post, TechCrunch, The Industry Standard, VentureBeat, The Indianapolis Star, and Indiana Business Journal (among others) all picked up on the news this week that Scale Computing recently secured $9 million in venture funding from lead investors.
