Welcome to the latest edition of BLASTmedia Profiles! We have been slacking off on our employee profiles recently because we have been busy with tradeshows, press tours, new clients, etc… But we’re back, and this month, we’ll be profiling Kiersten Moffatt, one of our newest Media Relations Specialists.
In her time with BLAST, Kiersten has taken the consumer technology media by storm, and has been killing it with coverage for her clients GelaSkins, AMBERAlert.com, and Banglz.
Kiersten has had a fabulous month of February, with coverage for her clients featured on The Doctors, in the Wall Street Journal, and Daily Candy (all this week!)
While she is an awesome Media Relations Specialist, she’s also pretty cool outside of the office. Let’s get to know her a little better…
BLASTmedia nickname: I’m taking suggestions!
Hometown: Fishers, Indiana
College(s) attended: Valparaiso University
Favorite childhood memory: My entire extended family of 15 has taken a huge family vacation every two years from the time I was born, so I would have to say every single family vacation we have ever taken has produced a lifelong, favorite memory. My grandmother mixing alcohol with her medication in Key West would have to be one of the best, however.
Favorite sport: Not a hard one if you know me: FOOTBALL! And more specifically, COLTS football…Go Blue!
Favorite movie: Way too many movies…I would have to say: Pride and Prejudice, Saving Private Ryan, Shawshank Redemption, Cold Mountain, Little Giants, Peter Pan, Anchorman, Home Alone, Last of the Mohicans, Just Friends, The Patriot, Rush Hour, Count of Monte Cristo. I could go on…
Favorite Indianapolis restaurant: PF Chang’s or Qdoba
Random fact: I studied abroad and lived in Reutlingen, Germany when I was in college. I was able to backpack across 17 countries and attend the Oktoberfest in Munich—best time of my life! Ich vermisse dich, Deutschland!
One word to describe you: Passionate
Favorite quote: “I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when their right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.” — Marilyn Monroe
What’s on your iPod: I’m pretty eclectic, so pretty much everything: Relient K, Josh Groban, the Script, Cash Cash, AAR, 3Oh!3, Keith Urban, We the Kings, Duran Duran, Rascal Flatts, Belle and Sebastian…you name it, I probably have it. My guilty pleasure: Justin Bieber—so catchy.
Favorite Pandora Station: Recently, it’s been one of three: Iyaz, Lady Antebellum, and Owl City—pretty different stations, so I have all my moods covered.
Favorite Twitterer you follow: Josh Groban (@joshgroban)
How would you describe your job at BLASTmedia: Perfect! It’s been a BLAST (pun completely intended) getting to know and becoming friends with everyone, working with great clients, and simply working in the PR industry with BLASTmedia. It’s fast-paced, exciting and never dull.
What’s the biggest thrill you’ve had while working at BLAST: Traveling to Las Vegas for CES—it was a fantastic time, and definitely something I’m looking forward to doing again! It’s also been exciting getting coverage for my clients: The Doctors, DailyCandy, Computerworld, Yahoo! Tech, Yahoo! Shine, etc.
What do you like to do outside of BLAST: I love to be around friends and family—whether that is out doing something, or staying in. I also like to be interactive and do random thing—amusement parks, camping, rock climbing, bungee jumping…anything thrilling I’m up for. I absolutely LOVE to travel and wish I could do more of it. I don’t think there is one place in this world I wouldn’t want to go at least once. I definitely like to travel when I’m able to, even if it’s just to Chicago or somewhere close by to meet up with sorority sisters or college friends!
