PR Recession? (count us out.)

A recent post on A View From Silicon Valley states:

“While the U.S. economy may be climbing out of recession, many industries are still experiencing the nagging effects of the sour economy. What’s the state of the public relations industry: Is it recovering or limping along? It depends, said Tim Dyson, CEO of Next Fifteen, a publicly traded group of PR businesses. “Pre-recession, the PR industry was drifting towards digital and in particular social media/networks,” he blogged. “The recession accelerated PR down that path in ways that will change the industry forever.” Bottom line: If your agency is embracing social media — and everything that comes with it — then you’re probably among the companies emerging from recession.”
