Coverage! ….Now what?
Our biggest success at BLASTmedia is securing top national media coverage. After a brief moment of excitement, we pass the coverage along to our client, and then get right back to securing the next big hit. But often we are asked by our clients, “What can we do with this coverage?”
Unfortunately, we cannot make an announcement to other media that you or your product is being featured in another publication. (Editors do not like hearing that a competing publication is featuring you/your product, it does not bode well.) However, there are several ways to leverage the top media hits that your BLAST team secures:
- Strengthen your sales team – Our number one goal with coverage is generating awareness and sales. Adding big media hits to your sales team’s arsenal is a great way to use coverage. Showing potential buyers or distributors that you are a nationally recognized product or service can be influential and persuasive.
- Build Partnership –If you are looking to partner or collaborate with other top companies, coverage can be another great way to prove that you are a company with clout. Coverage can help lead to business development opportunities.
- Awards –We often submit clients to award programs and we often submit top coverage as a way to bolster our submission. It is sometimes even a category.
- Local press – Occasionally, national press can lead to local press. We can strategically reach out to local press highlighting your company as a local mover-and-shaker in the industry. (This process does not translate from one national publication to another.)
- Spread the word within your customer base – If you’ve launched a new product or added a feature that receives coverage, put it in your e-newsletter to the company and customers.
- Show it off!– Display top coverage on your website, providing customers with more information on your product. This also shows that you are a trustworthy business, service or product to stimulate sales.
