When you work at BLASTmedia, what happens in Las Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.  For instance, hundreds of follow-up phone calls and e-mails will be sent pre and post our trip to the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show, or CES, in Las Vegas starting Thursday January 7^th and ending January 10^th. CES is our Super Bowl. If we were accountants, it would be our tax season. It’s our biggest event of the year and perhaps the biggest event of the year for most of our clients. Yes, it requires extra effort, longer hours and more work, and a new pair of the most comfortable shoes ever, but it’s all a part of our job and we like making an extra effort to make sure our clients maximize their experience at the show.

The first stages hit some as early as August with award submissions and new business development and by December 1, we are all infected with the madness. With new messaging to learn, award submissions, filtering the massive press list, preparing media kits, writing press releases, last-minute clients, and stress levels through the roof, it’s vital that we all work together and communicate with our clients often.

At the show, we will meet and greet with everyone including press, retailers, distributors, and analysts. With a deep understanding of our clients product/service and intentions, we break it down in terms easy to understand. We stroll the floor and drag press to the booth, where we introduce them to the client, provide a demo and sample if necessary and record their contact information so that we can follow-up with them after the show and turn this leads into coverage!
