We are known for our skills in generating national media attention for our clients, but we recently had the chance to show our local press abilities for our Indy-based client, Scale Computing. On Friday, Scale celebrated the grand opening of its new Indianapolis corporate office with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Held at the Purdue Research Park at AmeriPlex-Indianapolis, the celebration included speeches from Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, Indiana Secretary of Commerce Mitch Roob, Purdue Research Foundation COO Joseph Hornett and Scale’s CEO and founder Jeff Ready. The event was a tremendous success with nearly 100 people in attendance, including Daniel Lee, from the Indianapolis Star, and local television crews from NBC’s WTHR-TV, CBS’ WISH-TV, and ABC’s WRTV. Hey, three out of four isn’t bad – I mean, what gives Fox?! Lee ended up featuring Scale in his Sunday column titled, “Bringing Silicon Valley to Indiana,” and all three TV stations included the big event in their evening news on Friday.

Recently named to Forbes Magazine’s America’s Most Promising Companies List for 2009, Scale has taken off since they began with BLAST, with media coverage in the New York Times, Forbes, CNNmoney.com, InformationWeek, to name a few. This is all a testament to a great product and great leadership, combined with an outstanding working relationship with BLAST.

From all of us at BLAST, we want to officially welcome Scale Computing to Indiana. There really is “more than corn in Indiana”…and it definitely isn’t Indiana Beach!
