Tapping into the vast and knowledgeable Twittervise, David Pogue, tech editor for the New York Times, recently released his book, composed entirely of Tweets. The World According to Twitter, by Dave Pogue, is made up of 2,524 tweet responses to Pogue’s variety of questions sent into the Twitter world. And excitingly enough, yours truly, from BLASTmedia, has done her part to coauthor!

About the Book:

“Every night at 11 pm, I posted a new question to my followers on Twitter…Then, for the next two hours, I’d sit there on the couch, reading the replies and cackling like a deranged person…In the end, I posed 95 questions. They generated over 25,00 responses…As you’ll soon see, this book’s coauthors are some of the wittiest, sharpest, most interesting people on the Internet…And thanks to the unique, real-time, communications channel called Twitter, they’ve successfully completed a massive collaborative experiment.” Pogue, David. The World According to Twitter, Black Dog & Leventhal publishers, 2009, pg. 12-13.

I happen to agree with his assessment of the authors, but that aside, my contribution came in response to the question, “What’s your favorite little-known household hint?”

“Chopping up a lemon and putting it down your garbage disposal helps disinfect your disposal and makes it smell nice! -@HillaryMoney (pg. 207)

The book is a great read and below are some of our favorite responses:

Make up a greeting card for a modern situation:

I’m sorry to hear your upgrade to Blu-Ray has rendered your DVD collection inadequate. -@pumpkinshirt

So sorry to hear you were nude sunbathing when the Google Maps Camera Car drove by. -@rponto

Take a common abbreviation and tell us what it *really* stands for.

BMW: Break my windows. -@NickDow

NATO: North America Tells Others -@hose311

IRS: Income Removal Specialist -@Sofajenkins

What is your favorite response?

Thanks @DavidPogue for The World According to Twitter!
